1. Call-to-action buttons are more effective than text links

This is good to know – although I’m not sure how this would apply to an ecommerce store, where clicking a link takes the customer away from the product page. A call-to-action button however stays on that landing page and is more likely to be clicked.

2. The word “free” always performs well

Our web design Toronto agency think should be a no-brainer – but have you tried placing the word free on your homepage? If not, do you have any other pages where the word free would be appropriate?

This is good to know because it can be very effective for coupons, discounts, samples…something that is free, essentially.

3. The length of your headline matters

Short headlines outperform long ones. So, when our web design NYC are using a short headline,we make sure it’s on every page of your website.

This is good to know – I’m not sure how long is too long, but if headline length does have an impact on click-through rates, the shorter the better.

4. It’s always the right time to A/B test your headlines

It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with your company name or product names – but don’t be afraid to try something new! An effective way to make sure you’re choosing the best option is A/B testing.

5. First names always work better than company names

People are more likely to click on personalised links with first names, rather than company or product names, so if you have a sales page, test this out!

6. The word “new” makes your offer seem exclusive

If you have a new product or service, test placing the word “new” in your email subject lines. It could be just what you need to give your offer that added boost!
